" Amber Meeks was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Her love for books and writing was discovered at an early age, when her grandmother used to make her read and write a report on what she’d read. Although she hated it then, it prepared her for her future. At the age of 13, she started to read urban Christian fiction, teen fiction and other African American fiction books. In high school she realized that she wanted to become an author and began writing short stories for her friends to read. It took several years before Amber finally made a move to make her dream come true and she couldn’t be happier to share her work with the world. She released her first series “Everything That Glitters Ain’t Gold” under Supreme Works in August of 2018 & is super excited to produce many more novels for you to enjoy! She’s no nonsense when at work but finds herself settling for less than she deserves in her personal life.

Antonio is Talayah’s longtime boyfriend, but lately he’s become more like her son. After losing his job, Antonio falls into a deep depression and begins to physically, mentally and emotionally abuse Talayah to make himself feel better. Talayah tries to give him the benefit of the doubt and understand his situation, but deep down inside she really wants to walk away from their relationship.

Giselle is Talayah’s best friend and leading news anchor at the local new station. She is always there for Talayah whenever she needs her and will cut up on anybody on behalf of her bestie.

Giselle’s brother, Beanie, is a well-respected and known rapper around Detroit and they both share a mutual hatred for Antonio. When Talayah cries out for help Giselle and Beanie are right there to pick up the pieces.

With things continuing to go downhill for Talayah & Antonio’s relationship, Talayah takes it upon herself to come up with a plan to leave Antonio alone once and for all. As if things weren’t complicated enough in her life, she runs into Yasir and it’s almost like love at first sight. They both find themselves quickly falling for each other, but it seems as if the universe doesn’t want them together. Will they be able to fight the outside forces trying to pull them apart or will Talayah be fed up with the drama that the men in her life seem to bring her?
